Architecture Industry Research - Summer Internship
Powering Design Industry Assessment
Are you an architecture student who wants to discover great design work, research firms, and understand the landscape of the architecture profession? WEsearch Lab, India's leading design computation and AI research unit, is expanding its ecosystem. We are looking for motivated architecture interns to help us build a comprehensive research database of architecture practices across the world.
This summer internship is ideal for students who enjoy digging through architecture publications, awards, and archives to identify leading firms and notable projects. The work involves structured research and careful documentation.
About WEsearch Lab
WEsearch Lab operates at the forefront of spatial design and artificial intelligence. We have established ourselves as India's leading design computation consultant and AI researcher in spatial design, lending our expertise to projects of national significance such as the Central Vista redevelopment and the G20’s venue Pragati Maidan redevelopment.
Our commitment to innovation is further demonstrated through the release of our own Grasshopper plugins, including Eelish for automated column-beam placement and Chingree for generating Mondrian-inspired 3D massing. Our groundbreaking work has been presented at prestigious international institutions like the Architectural Association, London, and the University of Southern California.
WEsearch Lab's AI-enabled research, such the work on the detection of design plagiarism, has been recognized with the Indian Institute of Architect's (IIA) Excellence in Architecture Award. Most recently, we launched safeornot.in, an innovative AI tool that predicts the safety perception of women in a neighbourhood using photographs.
WEsearch Lab has recently been developing several products and initiatives for the architecture industry, and we are currently expanding our research and outreach efforts.

Conclude with three suggestions on how a new award could be positioned competitively based on your study. (Max 300 words)*
Researching and documenting 50+ firms a week can be repetitive. Tell us about a time you had to complete a high-volume, detail-oriented, but repetitive task. How did you ensure you didn't make mistakes? How did you maintain motivation? (Max 100 words)*
Research three professional architecture awards in India. Briefly describe one drawback, limitation, or gap you observe in each of them. (Max 100 words)*

I am available full-time.
Thanks for applying. We shall get back to you soon!
